Our
patients are predominantly dogs and cats, however rabbits,
ferrets and assorted pocket pets are seen at our office as
well.Patient
visits are by appointment.We provide complete general and preventive medical
care as well as general surgical and dental services.We offer complete laboratory services including a
state of the art in-house lab.Other diagnostic services includex-rays, ultrasound and dental radiography.See services

Meet our Doctors and Staff
Veterinarians
Bruce M. Baker,
D.V.M.
Dr. Baker is originally from the Detroit
area and received his veterinary degree from MichiganStateUniversity
in 1973. After graduation, Dr. Baker came to
North Main
and has been here ever since. He and his wife Cathy live in
Royal Oak,
where they are very active in their church and many
community organizations. The Bakers and their two grown
children are avid Spartans as all four are graduates of
MichiganStateUniversity.
Dr. Baker is one of the two
owners of NorthMainAnimalHospital
and has been since 1982.
James G. Mast, D.V.M.
Dr. Mast grew up in Royal Oak
and even worked at North Main
while in high school, taking care of the animals and
cleaning in the evenings. He graduated from MichiganStateUniversity’s
College
of Veterinary Medicine
in 1985. He joined the staff at North Main
in 1987. He and his wife Marianne live in Royal Oak
and have three children. They are active with their church
and other community organizations.
Dr. Mast is one of the two
owners of NorthMainAnimalHospital
and has been since 1991. He is a member of the American
Veterinary Dental Society and makes sure that quality dental
care is an integral part of our practice.
Janelle Konstam, D.V.M.
Dr. Konstam was born and raised
in the Detroit
area. She attended the University
of Michigan
for two years and then transferred to MichiganStateUniversity
where she obtained her DVM in 1979. She also met her future
husband, Dr Stuart Teger at MSU.
She became an associate at North Main animal
hospital shortly after graduation and has worked there, more
or less, ever since. She has also raised four children, and
has had a various assortment of pets over the years.
April L. Simms, D.V.M.
Dr. Simms is originally from
Huntington Woods and received both her B.S. and D.V.M.
degrees from MichiganStateUniversity. After
graduating in 2000, she moved to Royal Oak
and has been an associate at NorthMainAnimalHospital
ever since then. Dr. Simms enjoys attending continuing
education conferences, and attends many local seminars and a
major national conference every year. In her free time, she
likes to travel, and enjoys participating in such activities
as golf, skiing, and exercise.And, she
especially loves spending time with her loyal companions,
Daisy and Luke.
